October is Graceful Giving!
At PeopleSense, we believe in a couple guiding principles: fostering healthy relationships and giving back. They’re baked into the work we do all year long, but October gives us a chance to highlight these important priorities.
In October, we celebrate the birthday of my adopted dog Grace who’s turning 14 this year! Even though the work we do at PeopleSense is focused on organizational dynamics, Grace has been an instrumental teacher when it comes to building healthy relationships both personally and professionally.
She continually offers lessons and reminders, raising my awareness and teaching me how to have the kinds of interactions and outcomes that are grounded in respect and trust. I suspect many of you have had those special animal teachers in your life, too.
Graceful Giving ‘party!’
This October, in honor of Grace’s 14th birthday, I’m throwing a party of sorts, and it’s filled with giving. For starters, I’m giving away a free, all-day team-building workshop to a deserving non-profit. It’s my way of saying thanks to Grace and giving back to those who selflessly serve others.
I want to shine a light on the non-profit community because they help so many and often forgo professional development opportunities due to budget considerations. If you are a non-profit interested in applying, check out the information here.
There are other ways to be a part of Graceful Giving, too!
Like to join in the celebration?
If you’d like to be a part of the celebration, there are a few wonderful ways to do so:
- Talk to your favorite non-profit to see if they’d like to apply for the free day of team training.
- Donate to your favorite non-profit or offer some service to others
- Leave a comment, picture, or video that recognizes an act of giving you’ve witnessed this month!
If you leave a comment on our blog post, you’ll be entered in a drawing for a $50 donation to the non-profit of your choice. Together we can make Graceful Giving a powerful way to give back and create healthy relationships in our world!
2018 Application for Graceful Leadership Team Training
What is Graceful Giving?
Graceful Giving is a month-long celebration culminating in the selection of a non-profit that will receive a full-day workshop devoted to team development. The application process is outlined below, including a description of the workshop content.
The full-day workshop is called “Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team.” Based on the work of Patrick Lencioni’s international best-seller The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team® powered by Everything DiSC® helps teams apply The Five Behaviors™ model of Trust, Conflict, Commitment, Accountability, and Results to drive team effectiveness and productivity.
What does the program cover?
The program helps teams understand how, as a team, they score on the key components of The Five Behaviors model: trust, conflict, commitment, accountability, and results. Everyone on the team will also understand their own personality style and their team members’ styles, based on the DiSC® model: D: Dominance, I: Influence, S: Steadiness, and C: Conscientiousness, and how their style contributes to the team’s overall success.
