When you share, you’ll be entered in a drawing for a $50 donation to the non-profit of your choice! But even more importantly, we can all become inspired by the kind acts happening around us each day.

A man in Georgia who makes traditional bows heard about veterans who couldn’t afford to buy a bow, but wanted to participate in archery because it has helped many to heal from their experiences in combat. He has since made several dozen (each worth more than $1,000) which he gives to these vets, and even pays to mail them around the country.
Wow, what a perfect example of generosity and giving! Thank you, Maryann, for sharing this. I know the veterans have benefited from this selfless act of the bow maker. Think of all that healing!
The Monadnock Food Co-op’s shoppers continue to wow us — they donate their change (from their shopping transactions) to our Round It Up Program. We used to run it quarterly, but our shoppers asked us to run it year round. So this month’s Round It Up recipient is the Monadnock Food Co-op Farm Fund. What a perfect example of giving back, Jen! There are so many levels to the Round Up program that I love: the individual giving, the Co-Op offering this opportunity for giving, and recognizing and supporting the non-profits that are recipients. Thanks for sharing this and hope it inspires others in lots of ways.
My husband and I recently closed on a new house and faced the daunting task of moving whilst living with a toddler haha. Everything I packed, she unpacked behind me. And prepping for moving day became more of a game of Jenga to see how we could keep boxes out of her reach.
On the big day, I had no idea how many of our friends were actually going to show up and how appalled they would be by the state of things, but I wasn’t very hopeful. To my surprise, dozens of friends and family members arrived at our door with coffee, totes, work gloves, and borrowed vehicles to make it happen. I felt so blessed by our tribe that day, by the fact that they showed up for something as “un-fun” as moving someone else’s stuff. A good reminder to me to always show up when it counts :).

Last week The River Center hosted Jessica Lahey talking on The Gift of Failure. We had asked folks to sign up on Eventbrite even thought the event was free. Eventbrite gives you the option of making a donation and two people of the one 100 signed up did that. One of them was $100 donation which is significant in any one’s world!
